I’m not surprised that my top blog post from 2013 was Best Pic of the Day Ever from February 21st. Someone had driven onto the walking path along the Schuylkill River and tried to squeeze through an underpass that was clearly too narrow. I never heard the story behind this and can only imagine how someone got into this situation.
I’m also not entirely surprised and am quite pleased that my post from January 22nd about my first published story ended up in my top 5 posts. I received the news in January that Ayris Magazine accepted my story, Six Minutes, and it was published online during the summer.
Also in the top five was my picture of the menu at Rex1516 where the batch of bitters we made was included in one of their special cocktails, Pan’s Elemental. The drink was made with rum, absinthe, cardamaro, lime and our healing bitters. We recently started a tumblr for our adventures in bitter making.
The other two top posts are a little more surprising. One is my pic of the day from February 18th of the soap dispenser in the bathroom at JG Domestic. The novelty is that it is a converted bourbon bottle. It’s a cool idea but why it attracted the attention it has remains a mystery.
Most surprising is that my post from back on March 20, 2009 about the documentary Thomas Pynchon: A Journey into the Mind of [p.] made the top five. How a four-year-old post gained any traction is baffling to say the least, but I’m glad people came across it and I hope they found my review interesting and/or helpful.
