Staycation 2015 Day Three

Day Three started off with a trip to Plenty Cafe for breakfast. Plenty is a coffee shop a few blocks from us, which we haven’t been to very often, but have enjoyed when we have eaten there. Since our vacation visit, they added a liquor license, which is an enticing turn of events. We’ve seen the drink list for their cafe in East Passyunk and are intrigued. I’m sure we’ll be popping in one of the next times we’re in that area.

For the morning of Staycation, we shared a brisket sandwich and a pancetta hash sandwich.

On this day, Holly came with me for one of the movies, An, an appropriate choice for our week since it focused on food, specifically dorayaki.

After the movie, we took public transit to the Fishtown section of the city to go to Sancho Pistolas, which is a place we had been wanting to go to for quite a while for their tacos. We shared orders of their Duck, Falafel, and Mahi Mahi tacos. All were delicious but our favorite were the Mahi Mahi.

We had beer with our food but filled up quickly and needed something other than more beer, so we walked back to Bardot Cafe, which we had walked by earlier in Staycation. We really loved the old time feel of the interior, and I especially appreciated the film-related theme for the cocktails. I had their Pierrot le Fou (espolon reposado, mezcal, lime, ginger beer) and a Small Change (calvados, demerara, green chartreuse, peychaud’s); Holly had a drink special (Negroni with barrel-aged gin) and a Shoot the Piano Player (napoleon armagnac, pear, citrus, prosecco).

We didn’t particularly plan on spending so much time in Northern Liberties, but it kept calling us back.
