On Day Six of of our Philadelphia Staycation, we decided to stay closer to home for breakfast, especially since it was a little rainy. Rather than try someplace new, we went to one of our local favorites, Cafe Lutecia. Tom got his usual eggs, ham & cheese on a baguette, and to do something more special, I got the croque madame.
After breakfast and lots of coffee, Tom went to the Philadelphia Film Festival to catch a couple movies: In Bed with Victoria and Aquarius. I unfortunately had to stay home to grade papers 🙁
We met up for an early dinner at Kanella Grill BYOB and brought a bottle of wine from our recent tasting at Jet Wine Bar. Kanella Grill is a casual Cypriot food restaurant from the same chef as Kanella Restaurant (now Kanella South), one of the best restaurants in Philadelphia. We had been to the old Kanella several times, the new Kanella South once, and this was our first time at Kanella Grill.
We started with an order of babaghanouj, which was on special that night, served with pita and topped with pomegranate seeds.
Next up, we shared a falafel platter and a kofta kebab platter.
One of the dinner specials we were tempted by but did not order was coriander-crusted swordfish and red pepper kebabs. However, it did inspire our Sunday night dinner later in the week.

After our delicious meal, since it was Thursday, we went to Rex 1516 for some cocktails with Sweet Lou. Yet another great day of Staycation!
